Regimen/Staples

Daily:  Depending on the style my hair is in (usually a wash & go) I moisturize in the morning when fluffing my hair out and oil my ends at night to reduce friction while sleeping. I wrap my hair in a silk scarf at nights.

Products I use to refresh in the morning (in order of most liked): Oyin Hair Dew, Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, Curl Junkie Beauticurls.

Olive Oil on my ends at night.

Every 2/3 days: Co-wash and finger detangle

Co-wash with the Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Conditioner

Weekly: Pre-poo, shampoo (sulfate free), condition, detangle with a wide tooth comb ( which I have started to do less frequently since I started finger detangling) and *style.

Products: Coconut Oil (pre-poo and sealant), Creme of Nature Argan Oil Sulfate free Shampoo (now using the Creme of Nature Detangling Shampoo), Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Conditioner.

* When styling my hair I first apply a leave-in conditioner, then my styler, sometimes a finisher and finally I seal my ends.

Stylers I use:

Kinky Curly Curling Custard ( In my blog you will find other products that I try from time to time)

Herbal Essences Set Me Up Gel (Check for update, I rarely use this gel now as it flakes after day one or when another product is applied over it)

Uncle Funky’s daughter Curly Majic

Curl Junkie Curl Queen Styling Gel

Monthly: Deep Condition (Protein or Moisture Specific)

I try to switch this up depending on how my hair feels. This is important because you should learn what YOUR hair likes and treat accordingly.

Protein: I use my DIY protein deep condition that I whip up in my kitchen. I will write a seperate post for this but it usually contains egg, yogurt and mayonnaise as the main ingredients.

Moisture: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab or  my EVOO and honey mix

Although I tend to do deep conditioning treatments every month, if my hair has been subjected to constant sun or other stressors I would do a deep condition every 2 weeks or even weekly.

Other carrier oils I use: Sweet Almond Oil, EVOO, castor oil and Jojoba Oil.

Essential Oils I use to massage my scalp or add to my hair treatments: Rosemary Oil, Basil Oil, Peppermint Oil

I also use Apple Cider Vinegar to clarify when I don’t want to use shampoo.
